At the left side of the leave application page, the employee will be informed of the number of both his available and current leave credits. It is important that an employee knows the difference between these two so that he’ll understand the breakdown of his leave - how many days will be paid and how many will be unpaid.
Available Leave Credits - These are the credits that an employee can use. This means the leaves are not yet used in any pending or approved leave applications.
Current Leave Credits - These consist of Available Leave Credits and those that are still pending for approval. Hence, Current Leave Credits should either be greater than or at least equal to the number of Available Credits.
For example, the employee currently has 5 leave credits. Then he filed a new leave just today which is still subject for approval. If he tries to apply for a new leave application, then this will be displayed as his Available and Current Leave Credits:
