There are times that employees need to render a Rest Day work at home. Sometimes they even have to work beyond their scheduled rest day shift. Necessary applications should be filed in order to get the premium rate.
If you’ll be working on a rest day and work overtime follow these simple steps:
Apply a Schedule Adjustment
It will be under pending applications of your approver. Make sure rest day is ticked. The hours rendered within the scheduled time will be paid as Rest Day Premium.
In this example, the employee’s schedule was adjusted to 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Apply for a Certificate of Attendance (You can also apply for an Official Business)
The log in and log out should be the actual hours the employee started and ended working.
In this example, the employee logged in at 7:00 AM and logged out at 8:00 PM.
File for the Overtime
In this example, 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM will be applied as Rest Day OT.
Hours beyond the scheduled time will be paid as Rest Day OT Premium (If the application is approved by your approver).
You’ve just learned what to file if you're working from home on a rest day and would render overtime hours. If you have questions and suggestions, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
